Canal Village began with a simple but powerful belief: families should not have to choose between affordability and a home that provides space, security, dignity and a true sense of belonging. Led by Gary Hobbs and developed by BWI, Canal Village was created to bring quality single-family housing to Indianapolis's Near Northwest community. What began as a vision to transform vacant neighborhood lots has grown into an investment in families and the surrounding community. Canal Village offers thoughtfully designed three- and four-bedroom homes, one- and two-story designs and accessible options where parents can establish stability, children have room to grow and families can build lasting memories. Today, Canal Village is proud to provide homes for more than 30 single-parent households. Through each phase, BWI remains committed to creating quality housing, listening to residents, strengthening neighborhood relationships and investing in the people who make the community home.
